General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear Patient,
I totally understand your concerns regarding your breast pain.
You have a typical case of Premenstrual syndrome (PMS).

The core symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) include affective symptoms such as depression, irritability, and anxiety, and somatic symptoms such as breast pain, bloating and swelling, and headache.

The treatment plan is the following :
We recommend selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) as first-line therapy for women with premenstrual symptoms. We typically start with fluoxetine or sertraline as these are the most extensively studied.
If you don't want to start on SSRIs and contraception is preferred then oral contraceptive pills containing drosperinone is also effective and should be administered continuously.

regarding mammography i will recommend it if there is any suspected lesion on breast exam or if you are above the age of 40. other than that i won't ask you to do it.
Best Regards
